Andrew Ibrahim, Sales Manager at West Way Developments, on how the company became part of his story

Some people work at a company. Others grow up in one. Andrew Ibrahim, Sales Manager at West Way Developments — the company behind projects in Sheikh Zayed and 6th of October — is the second kind. In a conversation with Proplix, Andrew talked about the moment he felt the company became part of him, not just a place he shows up to every day.

Not Just a Job, a Second Home

We asked him about the moment he felt West Way became part of his own story, not just a job:

“Look, I’ve been at West Way for almost — we’re talking under three years now. And from how much time I’ve spent at West Way, and with the people there, I felt West Way became like a second home, not just a job.”

It wasn’t years and years at the company that made the difference — it was the intensity of his presence and his relationships with the people around him, in under three years, that was enough to turn it from a workplace into a sense of belonging.

Defending the Company Like You’d Defend Your Home

We asked him about the moment he felt he’d defended West Way, not just sold a project:

“Maybe when there’s an attack happening on developer companies on social media. That’s when we turn to defend the company, because at the end of the day, it’s not just a place we work — it’s a place we grew up in and succeeded in.”

The distinction is clear here: someone defending something they grew up in and succeeded in isn’t just responding to passing criticism — they’re defending a part of their own identity.

One Word: Proud

When we asked him to pick a single word to describe how he feels while presenting West Way, he answered without hesitation:

“I’m proud, presenting West Way’s work, of course.”

Not a long answer, but a telling one: there was no hesitation, no searching for the word — pride is part of his professional identity, not just a passing feeling.

A Relationship Closer to Friendship Than a Sale

We asked him what he feels the client sees in him, beyond the formal sales talk:

“I like my relationship with the client to be closer to a friendship, not just someone I’m selling to and that’s it.”

A distinction between “a broker closing a deal” and “someone building a relationship” — and that’s exactly what keeps real estate sales clients coming back to the same person.

What Surprised Me Most About Myself

We asked him what surprised him most about himself since he started working at West Way:

“That I didn’t feel I could reach this stage, but it happened, so that surprised me a lot. That I reached this stage, this place. And that’s thanks, of course, to the people around me — my managers and my team, first and foremost.”

A surprise rooted in exceeding the expectations he’d set for himself, but at the same time, he credited the people around him rather than himself alone — which says as much about his character as it does about his journey.

What the Client Tells a Friend After the Sales Gallery

The last question was about a moment after any sales conversation ends: if just one client talked about West Way to a friend after leaving the sales gallery, what would he say?

“He’d say everything’s beautiful, because he’ll have bought God willing.”

A simple answer, but one that sums up the philosophy of every successful salesperson: a client who’s genuinely convinced doesn’t just buy — he becomes an ambassador for the company without anyone asking him to.
